Who Should Attend?
Who should attend & course overview:The SMSTS (Site Manager Safety Training Scheme) is a 5 day site safety training course and is one of the most highly regarded qualifications within the construction sector. It is designed for site managers, agents and persons who are, or are about to be, responsible for planning, organising, monitoring, controlling and administering groups of staff and workforce. The course covers all relevant legislation and other aspects which affect safe working in the building, construction and civil engineering industries. It highlights the need for risk assessment in the workplace, the implementation of the necessary control measures and adequate communication to sustain a health and safety culture among the workforce.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course other than an understanding of written and spoken English, however delegates should hold or be about to hold the role of a construction manager. Delegates are required to attend the full 5 days.Unless otherwise advised by your trainer you are asked to arrive each day by 8.45am to start at 9am and you can expect to finish by 5pm, or if its a Friday, 4pm. You are requested to keep to these timings.If you are running late please let us know. It may be the case that the trainer is delaying the start of the course waiting for you. If you're not delayed too long you may be able to catch up on what you miss but this would need to be advised by the trainer. Otherwise you may have to re-book for a later course. Attendance is required for the full duration of all 5 days.

9am start, 5pm finish except on a Friday when it's 4pm. Two coffee breaks and a lunch break are given throughout the day.
The training centre is situated on New Road Ayr, next door to the Davis Snooker Hall and not far from Prestwick Road. If travelling by car is it 10 mins off the A77, turning at the Whitletts Roundabout onto the B743, Heathfield Road or A719, Whitletts Road. If travelling by train check that your train stops at Newton on Ayr which is the stop nearest our office. From the station turn right at the top of the road and it’s just a short walk to our office.. Tea/coffee, biscuits and water are available and a choice of filled roll for lunch is provided within the cost of the course. And shops and bakeries are withing walking distance.
