Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment qualification provides the learner with everything they need to know about maintaining and improving health and safety at work. It delivers essential knowledge about key terms, legal responsibilities and reasons for good health and safety on a construction site.The learner will also learn about personal protective equipment, emergencies, accident reporting, and dealing with ill-health within the construction environment. Successful qualification will earn a candidate four credits. There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification and the British Safety Council will not restrict access on the grounds of prior academic attainment, age, employment, geographic location or any other grounds.It is expected however that learners will have a level of literacy adequate to cope with the examination
Who Should Attend?
This course is for anyone wishing to apply for the Construction Skills Certificate Scheme (CSCS) Labourer Card (Green Card), necessary to work on a UK construction site. The Labourer Card qualification was developed in partnership with the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB).
Specific Health and Safety Awareness for Construction Site Operatives joining instructions will be supplied to you (if appropriate) once your booking is confirmed. At the end of the course each delegate will be required to sit a multiple choice, 40 question exam paper, the pass rat for this exam is 26/40. If the candidate scores less than 26/40 then it will be deemed as a failure. Upon completion successful delegates will receive an Ofqual approved certificate which will then form part of the framework to gain their CSCS card once they complete a HS&E touch screen test..
