Who is the course aimed At - UKATA Category B Work With Non Licensed Asbestos Materials, also known as Asbestos Working With - UKATA, is aimed at any individuals responsible for carrying out non-licensed work with asbestos-containing materials.

This includes trade operatives like demolition workers, construction workers, and general maintenance staff, as well as professionals such as electricians, plumbers, and architects.

It is also targeted towards anyone likely to disturb and work with asbestos-containing materials as defined in CAR 2012.

Joining Instructions - The UKATA Category B Work With Non Licensed Asbestos Materials training course, also known as Asbestos Working With - UKATA, typically lasts for one day.

The pre-course requirements include a basic understanding of asbestos, as well as the risks and safety measures associated with working with non-licensed asbestos materials.

Photo ID is required for registration and certification purposes.

Candidates should wear suitable clothing that covers their arms and legs, as well as closed-toe shoes. They may also be required to wear respiratory protection, which will be provided by the training provider. Other personal protective equipment PPE and equipment will also be provided as needed.

Further Information - Categories are:
(B1) Initial training with NO previous asbestos awareness training - The expected duration for this training will be 1 ½ days or a minimum of 9 hours tutor/learning time, this training must include the asbestos awareness element.

(B2) Initial training with previous UKATA certificated asbestos awareness training - Verification of the asbestos awareness training must be undertaken by the training provider and must be no more than twelve months from the date of the asbestos awareness training, should the asbestos awareness training fall outside of this then B1 training will be required.

The expected duration for this training will be 1 day or 6 hours.

(B3) Refresher training having undergone B1 or B2 above within the last 12 months - Previous training certification should be verified to ensure that this was undertaken within the last 12 months and also by a suitably recognised training provider, failure to demonstrate this will require B1 training as above.

The expected duration for the refresher training will be determined by the training provider carrying out a training needs analysis and should be no less than 3 hours of tutor time.
